Winter Blues II Regatta

The 2025 JRSC Winter Blues II Regatta will be raced indoors using 4-inch wooden sailboat models (provided) in Pearson Hall at the Jolly Roger Sailing Club. This race is open to all skippers, young and old. The simple rules to this tabletop sailing game (played with dice, cards, and model sailboats) will be taught prior to Race #1. Although knowledge of racing strategy will help, anyone can participate. (This game was very popular when introduced to our Adult Sailing Class in 2022.)

Our annual St. Patrick’s Day party / dinner (additional fee) will be held after racing and awards.

Cattail Regatta

Download: Notice of Race & Registration Form

This Saturday, June 3rd will be our Cattail Regatta. As you know the Cattail Regatta is one of our signature events of the year. Even if you are not racing, be sure to come out to the club for the festivities.

9:00 Registration Begins

9:00 – 10:30 Launching of boats

10:30 Skipper’s Meeting

11:55 First Gun

12:00 – 16:00 Racing

15:00 Club open for Fellowship and Dinner

17:00 Awards

We are having our traditional Steak and Chicken roast for only $15 per person. It is open to all members and guests. Please RSVP to Judy Owens (15170magi@gmail.com) so we know how many steak and chicken dinners to have on hand.

If your boat or trailer is parked on the main row next to the grassy “play” area, you need to move it before the Cattail Regatta! (This is actually spelled out in the club rules.) We will need this area for the visiting skippers to park and rig their boats. You can move your boat/trailer into the far back area of our yard. There is plenty of room. Although we don’t like moving member boats, we will be forced to move your boat/trailer this Thursday afternoon.

Cattail Regatta Meeting

Our signature event, The Cattail Regatta will be held on Saturday, June 3rd. We should have a great turnout of boats: Interlakes (it’s their Founder Cup), Catalina 22s (skippers vying for the Bruce Sondys Memorial Trophy), and Sunfish (we’re not in conflict with another Sunfish regatta this year). Obviously an event like this requires a lot of member support. Please come out and help.
